Direct Selling

Direct selling is the marketing and sale of products or services directly from an individual sales agent to consumers, usually in their homes or at their jobs in a face-to-face situation. 

The direct selling sector, which generated in 2008 a turnover of close to              13 billion € (excluding VAT) in the EU member states, depends on flexible and self-employed direct selling sales agents.

In 2008 in the European Union alone, approximately 4 million Europeans were working in the direct selling sector on a self-employed basis.
