Objectives
DSE was created with the objective to provide nucleus of the European sustainable direct selling industry with a strong say in the relevant legislative processes in Brussels.
DSE implements this objective using 3 key activities: Protect, Promote and Inform.
Protect the interests of its Members and the direct selling industry:
- DSE defends positions and interests of its Members and the sustainable direct selling industry to ensure a commercial and legislative environment that is conducive to successful business practices.
- DSE develops, strengthens and maintains relationships with European Institutions officials and representatives, governments, regulators, consumer organisations, trade associations, media and other relevant stakeholders.
- DSE raises awareness among EU decision-makers of the growing economic significance of the sector for entrepreneurs and self employed European citizens.
- DSE contributes by improving the quality of EU legislation, by reducing costs and uncertainties for business and by ensuring a favourable commercial environment allowing the sector to operate and prosper.
Promote members’ business and sector:
- DSE promotes the visibility and defends the interests of the direct selling industry in the European institutions; ensuring that they understand and take into account the concerns and realities of the sector throughout the decision-making process.
- DSE promotes direct selling at European level as a dynamic and reliable face-to-face channel of distribution aiming at the satisfaction of the consumers and of the direct sellers in a trustworthy and secured environment for both parties
- DSE cooperates closely with various industry and external stakeholders to improve awareness and understanding of (sustainable) direct selling aiming to facilitate long-term industry reputation enhancement.
Inform members and key stakeholders:
- DSE informs its members and stakeholders about any developments in European legislation and how it impacts their direct selling businesses.
- DSE issues press-releases, articles and other communications on the international world of direct selling and updates on national activities from companies and DSAs.
- DSE offers a platform for exchange of information and experience among its Members, facilitating interaction among direct selling executives on issues of importance to the industry.
- DSE has gained a reputation of trusted partner and resource for direct selling.
