DSE is recruiting a policy adviser

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director of DSE, the role of the Policy Adviser includes the following responsibilities:

  • Regular monitoring of relevant news and policy developments (consumer affairs, workers' rights, taxation, etc.)
  • Prepare legal/political assessment of legislative proposals
  • Draft position papers/press releases and produce research on a wide range of complex legal/policy issues
  • Support implementing the communication strategy of the association
  • Support representing the association in meetings with the EU institutions and trade associations

Required qualifications

  • University degree in European Law, Political Science, International Relations or Economics
  • Master’s degree in EU Studies, Public Affairs or equivalent (recommended)
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in EU public affairs in an international organization, company or trade association
  • Excellent command of English (native or equivalent), working level of German and/or French
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Result oriented, with ability to work in a team as well as autonomously

DSE offers a permanent full time contract under Belgian law. The candidate will start ideally in January 2013.
